曹錦輝確定加盟道奇，根據小聯盟官網，球團已將曹錦輝列入3A名單，不過美媒推測，曹錦輝開季後較有可能從2A土桑鑽孔機出發。

在道奇3A奧克拉荷馬市隊官網中，可以看到曹錦輝名字列入名單，不過根據Tulsa World報導，球團會在春訓期間評估曹錦輝狀況，要是表現不如預期，將讓他從2A出發。

曹錦輝在2000年赴美發展，有6年時間待在洛磯，當時土桑鑽孔機隊不是道奇所屬球隊，而隸屬洛磯，Tulsa World指出，曹錦輝應會回到土桑鑽孔機、拚上大聯盟。

對於道奇與曹錦輝簽下小聯盟合約，中職深表遺憾與不解，Tulsa World的報導也描述了曹錦輝在台的情況，內文提到他在2009年涉入假球案，遭到聯盟終身禁賽。

除了提及在中職被禁賽一事，Tulsa World另指出，曹錦輝手臂狀況維持不錯，球速仍有一定水準。
