國民逐漸站穩國聯東區榜首位置，10日面對同區的追兵勇士，首局就猛攻一輪拿下4分，終場以6比4獲勝，繼續穩坐分區王位同時點亮魔術數字M10。

「感覺我們越來越接近季後賽了，擊敗正在追逐你的球隊，這真的非常重要，一次就能拉開差距。」國民一壘手 Adam LaRoche表示。

此戰國民開路先鋒Denard Span開局敲出二壘安打，接著保送、安打串聯，打到第9棒投手Jordan Zimmermann才終止攻勢，首局打下4分領先。

國民總教練 Fredi Gonzalez說：「球員開賽在攻擊端表現傑出，通常他們面對Ervin Santana都會被輕鬆解決，今天找到了方法對付，並且拿下了重要的4分。」

國民終場以6比4擊敗勇士，賽後82勝61敗在美東領先多達9場，同時也亮起分區封王魔術數字M10。

輸球的勇士74勝71敗，國聯外卡落後1.5場，一壘手Freddie Freeman談到，「還不能完全放棄，當你在分區已經完全出局之後，接著就要瞄準外卡。」
