印度一對老夫婦重男輕女觀念嚴重，花盡積蓄求得獲子偏方，老婦終在70歲時誕下一對龍鳳胎，成為世界最高齡母親。

據英國《鏡報》（The Mirror）報導，印度北方邦（Uttar Pradesh）現年76歲的老婦辛格（Omkari Singh）與89歲的丈夫查蘭（Charan）育有2名女兒及5位孫子，但他們始終渴望擁有兒子，於是耗盡家產求「得子偏方」，終在2008年透過人工受孕，誕下一對龍鳳胎。

女孩在4歲不幸去世，但男孩幸運地健康長大。辛格說，許多人都會問「他是你的孫子？」，她都會很高興地回答「不，他是我的兒子」，並說這是種無法解釋的歡樂感覺。

辛格表示，她認為人生若無子便「失去意義」，「沒有兒子的話，誰來繼承這棟房子？」，並說希望兒子能盡早結婚，這樣她才能參加他的婚禮。
