（中央社華盛頓2日綜合外電報導）美國衛生當局今天宣布，境內發現危險的中東呼吸症候群（MERS）病毒首例，這些病毒相信是來自於中東的駱駝。

據法新社報導，美國疾病管制暨預防中心（CDC）說，中東呼吸症候群冠狀病毒感染症（MERS-CoV）病毒是從一名醫療照護人員身上檢測出，這名醫護人員最近曾到沙烏地阿拉伯旅行。

CDC的國家免疫暨呼吸疾病中心（National Centerfor Immunization and Respiratory Diseases）主任舒查特（Anne Schuchat）說：「雖然這項疾病集中在阿拉伯半島，但現在是發生在我們的心臟地帶。」

據路透社報導，這名病人正在印第安納州一家醫院接受治療，情況穩定，但受到「隔離」。

CDC正在會同印第安納州衛生官員調查這起病例。

中東呼吸症候群是類似嚴重急性呼吸道症候群（SARS）的病毒引起的疾病，2012年首次被檢測出。大部分是在中東地區爆發，但世界各地也有零星的報導。(中央社)
